Chanting we want democracy, we want elections and we want it now, some 50 youths and representatives of the NGO Coalition on Human Rights marched through the streets of Suva this afternoon to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Director of the NGO Coalition on Human Rights Virisila Buadromo told Fijivillage that there message to the interim government on this day is the need to return the country to democratic rule.
Meanwhile, Citizens Constitutional Forum Executive Director Reverend Akuila Yabaki told those in attendance that the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People is one of the most significant adoptions. Yabaki said the Indigenous Fijians have been fortunate to have their rights protected from the start.
