A post mortem conducted on the 60 year old retired bank officer whose body was found inside his home on Tuesday afternoon has revealed that he died of suffocation.

Media Officer West, Wame Buatolu said a bed sheet was tied around the victim's neck and they suspect he was strangled.

Police have also managed to establish that a gold ring, wrist watch, mobile phone and some other items were stolen from the house.

Ba police are conducting house to house interviews to determine whether anyone has any leads.

Police have managed to establish that a taxi stolen from Suva was found abandoned about 200 metres away from the victim's house and his vehicle was found in Lautoka.

Police believe the same people who stole the taxi from Suva were allegedly involved in the homicide.
