The Fiji Retailers Association said retailers will have to tighten up on operational costs following the Price Control Order.
President Himmat Lodhia said he welcomes the move as it will greatly benefit consumers however, businesses will have to lower their costs if they want to make profits.
Lodhia said in a few months time, they can fully experience the implications of the new move.
Lodhia added that small businesses in the North and outer islands will have a greater reduction price percentage however they will not get the exorbitant mark up as in the past.
