The Consumer Council of Fiji has received a number of complaints from retailers that many distributors and suppliers are now withholding products that were purchased before the devaluation announcement.
Chief executive officer Premila Kumar said those found to be withholding products will be taken to task by the Fair Trading Department.
Meanwhile, Fiji Retailers Association president Himmat Lodhia said distributors and suppliers should distribute the products that were purchased at the old price.
The prices of all imported goods will increase when new stocks arrive.
