Retailers in the capital city will be given a chance to make some extra money while also catering for the needs of consumers during daylight savings from later this month heading into the Christmas shopping spree.

Suva City Council Spokesperson Jillian Hicks confirms that retailers will be invited to apply for extending opening hours from later this month and through Christmas.

Hicks said this will allow the business community to take advantage of the day light saving period and give consumers more time to shop.

Day lights saving starts at 2am on November 29th to 3am on April 25th of next year.
