The Government is embarking on the restructure of the whole sugar industry in an effort to make it more viable and sustainable.
Sugar Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Manasa Vaniqi confirmed the restructure will look into a lot of issues and problems which has been overhanging for a number of years.
When asked on specific changes that are expected to be made at the Fiji Sugar Corporation, Vaniqi stated that it’s too early to pre-empt if there would be job losses at the FSC.
Vaniqi added the mill upgrade program which has been funded by the Indian Government is expected to finish by the end of next month.
