Three men were today sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for two counts each of restaurant breaking and larceny to be served concurrently.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Harish Chand told the court that Alipate Rainima, Jerry Kaitani and Maikali Basu broke into Kajal's Spicy Shop in Walu Bay on 28th May this and stole cash $1200, assorted cigarettes worth  $1000, telecards, assorted perfumes, gas lighters, recharge cards, all valued at an amount of $4560.

The three again broke into the same shop on 3rd June.

They stole $1000 cash, assorted cigarettes worth $13,000, 1 box chocolate, can stuffs, assorted perfumes and recharge cards, all valued at more than $14,000.

The three pleaded guilty before Magistrate Amani Rokotuinaviti.

The three sold the stolen items around the city centre. None of the stolen items were recovered.
