Time is important and that is why we must find a plan to evacuate people quickly and in an orderly manner.

This is what the chairman of the Fiji Tsunami Working Group and director of the Nadi Weather Office Rajendra Prasad said will be the basis of the meeting of relevant stakeholders this week.

Prasad said the aim of the meeting will be to come up with a proper tsunami response plan, following last Thursday's tsunami warning which caused a lot of panic resulting in congested streets, which could have proved disastrous if the tsunami had actually struck.

Prasad said Fiji was lucky last week that we were given time to evacuate people to higher ground.
