Respect legal process-Interim PM
These are the words of the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama at a press conference this afternoon where he called on everyone to respect the legal process to be followed.
Bainimarama said that the facts are that Fiji's security forces, the military and police, have worked in close co-operation and together in a joint operation and adds that if they had not foiled the situation, it would have led to serious unrest, bloodshed and instability in Fiji.
Bainimarama also adds that at no time did the Police Commissioner or any government agency directly implicate the Australian or New Zealand governments in the assassination plot.
The Commodore also had a message for the Non-Governmental Organisations saying that if they have not broken any law then they have nothing to fear.
Bainimarama said that Fiji is safe and that the interim government's priority is to maintain a peaceful, safe and secure environment for everyone in this country.
