Residents without bus service
A resident of Lokia, Sigatoka, Pratap Chand said school students and people going to work are facing difficulties to reach to their destinations.
Chand added he has written to the Land Transport Authority and Transport Ministry to raise his concern.
Meanwhile, the Dominion Bus Company was providing service in the area after LTA ordered Maharaj Buses to pull off most of their buses due to bad conditions.
Dominion Buses said they have seized their services because of illegal operations and poor road conditions.
The bus company said they have informed LTA about their decision in writing.
LTA spokesperson Ratu Eroni Volavola confirmed the bus company has given its valid reasons for seizing its services which LTA has accepted.
He said the company stated the operation is not economically viable, road conditions are poor and illegal operators are carrying their passengers.
He said if carrier operators and minivan drivers want to provide service in that area legally, they can apply for permit.
