A Ba resident has expressed disappointment at the lack of urgency in supplying water to residents in his area as they are now turning to rivers and boreholes for water.
Saten Chand said people living in Saru, Koronubu and Rarawai have not had proper piped water supply and this has seen them turning to other water sources.
He added this is a worrying sign especially when water borne diseases are on the rise.
Meanwhile, Works Ministry spokeswoman Sainiana Waqainabete said they have four water trucks on standby at the moment who will attend to any calls by members of the public who do not have proper water supply.
Health officials are calling on people without proper water supply to boil drinking water to prevent getting sick.
Diarrhea cases in the western division continue to rise with 66 new cases reported in the past four days, last week it was 142 totaling to 208 cases.
