As class 8 students get ready to go to school to sit for their Fiji Eight Year Examination residents living in high areas of Lami town, Veisari and Delainavesi are facing water cuts this morning.

Spokesperson for Suva Water supply, Maika Nagalu said there was a power blackout at Tamavua reservoir, and at the Savura pumping station which has led to closure of the Tamavua system.

According to Naqalu they still do not have backup generators for pumping stations and they have stretched the Wainibuku system to supply water to other affected areas. Wainibuku supplies water to Lami and nearby areas.

Three water trucks are carting water in the affected areas as its unclear when the water supply will be normalised.
