Residents advised to store water
According to the Water Authority of Fiji, there is a blockage at one of the pump that supplies water to the Waila Treatment plant.
As a result the pump has been shut off.
It is still unclear on when the water supply will normalise.
Meanwhile, water supply is expected to normalise in the upper Samabula area later this morning.
Corporate Affairs Officer, Joe Cava said water supply was affected early this week after the Savura pumping station broke down.
The pump was repaired two days ago, however when it was turned on, the pump encountered another mechanical problem.
He said repair works have been carried out and people will start receiving normal water from today.
Cava said water trucks were not supplying water to the affected areas in Samabula because they were concentrating on carting water to Delainavesi, Lami, Veisari and Togalevu areas, as these areas are frequently face water cuts.
