The parliamentary report on the National Flag Protection Bill and the Coat of Arms bill will now be tabled in parliament in August.

This is after parliament has unanimously passed the motion which was put forward by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human Rights, Ashneel Sudhakar.

It was widely supported by members of the Opposition and Government.

Sudhakar says the committee had to hold sittings for four weeks to review of the Employment Relations Amendment Bill, Flag Protection Bill and the Coat of Arms bill.

The committee has already presented its report on the Employment Relations Amendment bill.

Sudhakar says they did not have ample time to review all three bills.

The Speaker of Parliament, Dr Jiko Luveni had referred the Employment Relations Amendment Bill, Flag Protection Bill and the Coat of Arms bill to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human rights when they were tabled in May.
