Police have urged the management of schools to report any matter regarding students who are known to be involved in criminal activities.
The call comes after Ratu Kadavulevu School Vice Principal Mesake Tukana speaking on our sister station Viti FM revealed, that earlier this year he confiscated mobile phones from students which contained illicit adult material, and also alleged that some students have been found making calls to drug peddlers in the area.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said this is a serious matter and it should be reported to Police to be investigated.
Tukai said students have been reprimanded after they were allegedly caught at night making calls to drug pushers, who would make deliveries to students within the school compound.
He adds this week parents of two students came to him, after their children were missing from home and school and it is a serious matter that parents should address.
Tukai adds parents have been told that school rules do not allow students to have mobile phones, however this has not been adhered to, resulting in the problems students are now facing.
