The Public Service Commission has confirmed that all outstanding payments for the rent of government departments have been approved by the Finance Ministry.
Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Taina Tagicakibau has confirmed that a letter has been written to PSC from the Permanent Secretary of Finance confirming that all outstanding payments have been cleared.
According to Tagicakibau, outstanding rent for houses like the Ro Lalabalvu House had been forwarded to the Department of Lands who will then distribute the money.
This follows complaints from landlords who have not received their rent payments from the interim government.
Village news received complaints from various landlords who said that they usually receive their cheques from government for renting of office space on the 10th of every month, but last week they did not receive anything and no explanation was given.
