A 36-year-old renowned felon charged with robbery with violence was today sentenced to four years imprisonment by the Lautoka Magistrates Court.

The court heard that on 26th July last year, Anare Tokalaulevu broke into the warehouse of the Fiji Island Revenue and Customs Authority in Lautoka and assaulted the security officer, tied him with a rope and locked him in a room.

He then stole 11 laptops, liquor, cigarettes and other items to a total value of $28,248.

The robbery took place during a stock take of confiscated items however all items were recovered after investigation.

Tokalaulevu has to serve a term of three years before being considered for parole.
