The need to get rid of price control on goods and services in Fiji was echoed through the conference room at the Novotel this morning as the Fiji Employers Federation (FEF) presented its wish list to the government for the 2010 budget.
FEF's Digby Bosely also called on the government to reduce the number of public holidays in Fiji from next year.
Fiji Chamber of Commerce President Swani Maharaj said the Prices and Incomes Board is a deterrent to investors and should be abolished.
Tourism Fiji Chairman Patrick Wong also called on the government not to increase any taxes for the hotel industry next year has be urged the need to bring back Duty Free Shops in Fiji.
Meanwhile, during a question and answer session, businessman, FMF chairman Hari Punja called on government officials not to make generalized comments when talking off productivity in the private sector.
