Leaders from the various religious groups around the country converged in Suva over the weekend to discuss ways to unite the various races in the country.
Interim Minister for Education Netani Sukanaivalu, who was present at the Interfaith Session told Village News that the leaders from the Methodist Church, Catholic Church, Hindu, Muslim and Sikh organizations share a common aim and that is to unite the races in Fiji through racial tolerance.
Sukanaivalu also revealed that the religious leaders also agreed to assist the Education Ministry in its “No Student left Behind Programme”, through religious teachings at schools.
National Vice President of the Ahmadiya Muslim Jama'at Fiji Tahir Munshi said while the various religions in Fiji may differ on theological issues, they share the same visions for a peaceful and united Fiji.
