Weather permitting, relief efforts will start tomorrow with two naval boats expected to take assessment teams and emergency relief supplies to the northern division and parts of the Eastern Division.
DISMAC's coordinator Anthony Blake said with reports that more than seventy houses have been damaged in the northern division, emergency supplies will include tents and water containers.
A state of disaster has been declared for the Northern and Eastern Division.
The decision was made after preliminary reports presented to the President and Prime Minister showed that the Northern Division and Eastern Division has received extensive damages and close to fifty homes were destroyed as well as root crops.
Blake said they are also concerned about the Eastern Division as Hurricane Tomas heads in that direction.
