The Divisional Engineer Roads Northern have stated that reinstatement works are being carried out in the North, in Labasa concentrating from Draladamu hill to Nayarabale junction and from Naturu Hill and bridge to Nubu Village and upon restoring these areas, work will then proceed to Vunivutu and Natabe Roads.
In a statement released on road works in the various areas, the National Roads Department has revealed that there are also reinstatement activities on Vunicuicui, Bucalevum, Namoli and Korotari. However, the Tabia/Naduri road, still in a depression and bogged is now accessible to buses.
Major reinstatement work is also concentrated on the Nawailevu flats, Dramoka flars, Waibunabuna flats while restoration works have been completed on the Nawailevu, Dramoka and Waibunabuna Hills.
In Savusavu, reinstatement work is now concentrated on Vunilagi to Kasavu and Natewa/Vusasivo.
In Saqani, Natewa West Coast Road is opened to all traffic to Biaugunu and from here to Wainigadru is accessible only to 4 wheel drives.
