The paramount chief of Cakaudrove has today stressed that the interim government should reinstate the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) if it wants to take Fiji in the right direction.
With the planned Bose Ni Turaga called by the interim Prime Minister next month, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu said the GCC which he believes has done a lot for the nation needs to come back in its previous form.
Ratu Naiqama said the GCC has the chiefly wisdom to steer the country out of trouble.
Meanwhile, Indigenous Affairs Minister Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said they will follow proper protocol to invite the chiefs of the country.
The meeting is expected to take place with Commodore Bainimarama on the 9th and 10th of next month.
