Fiji Football Association believes there needs to be regular club level women’s soccer competition in all districts to improve its standard.

After the completion of Women’s IDC in Suva yesterday, competition manager Jainendra Sukhu said women’s soccer should be encouraged from school level and then they will be able to face teams like New Zealand.

According to Sukhu, there are very limited women players who are interested in playing soccer.

He added sponsorship is an issue as very few people are coming up willing to sponsor the women’s competition.

Sukhu said the Suva women’s soccer team had a sponsorship which assisted them in winning the Women’s IDC yesterday after beating Labasa 1 0 in the final.
