Registering with the Fiji teachers Registration Board does not mean that you will instantly get a job.
Chief Executive of the Board, Albert Soderberg while addressing participants at the 105th Fiji Principals Association Meeting last week informed them that the role of the Board is to ensure that qualified teachers are in schools however they do not facilitate jobs.
Soderberg replying to the questions raised by some principals, stressed that their role was to ensure that students were taught by qualified teachers and got the best teaching.
Meanwhile, Soderberg stresses that principals have the right to chase any person from the school premises if they do not have the right paperwork.
In total 11,795 teachers in both schools and educational institutes have been registered so far this year.
