The Pacific Regional Eye Institute Director Dr John Szetu is concerned with eye health and what causes blindness affecting Pacific countries.

Dr Szetu was speaking to 85 doctors and nurses from 12 Pacific countries who attended the three day conference on Pacific Regional Eye Health held in Suva yesterday.

Dr Szetu said the aim is getting eye care professional from the Pacific to share knowledge and experience on how to tackle blindness in the region.

He added there is a lack of human resources such as eye doctors and nurses to tackle the problem of blindness in the Pacific.
