Less than a week out from the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum, from which Fiji has been banned for the first time, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said he will fight to ensure the reforms his government is undertaking is achieved.
In a rare interview with Australian broadcaster, SBS One Dateline, Commodore Bainimarama spoke to Mark Davis on the upcoming Forum and lashed out at Kevin Rudd and his government.
Commodore Bainimarama again questioned why Australia and New Zealand continue to oppose the proposed electoral changes.
Bainimarama said Fiji cannot wait twenty years to bring about the required reforms and only the military can achieve these radical changes.
The Pacific Islands Leaders Forum will be held from the 4th to 7th August in Cairns.
