Referees performance at the Courts IDC was not up to standard.
When questioned by Fijivillage Sports on the number of concerns raised by some district associations on the referees’ performance, Referees Director, Chandra Segran agreed that there was inconsistency in decision making.
Segran said while there were no major blunders, they will call a referees seminar soon to iron out the inconsistencies.
Lautoka soccer association officials disagreed with the referees decision in awarding a penalty to Labasa in one of the semi-finals while Tavua soccer officials also spoke harshly about the referee who awarded a penalty to Suva in the dying stages of their pool match.
Segran said the referees were right in both instances.
