Referees pull out of Suva U19 7s
Led by President Marika Inia, the Association approached the Suva Rugby Officials at Albert Park requesting if they can be paid in advance for the 4 days of competition which also includes officiating at the Suva Tier 2 7's competition which kicks-off tomorrow.
Suva Official present at the ground, Etonia Radrodro tried to persuade the referees that under the agreement with SRU, they can only pay them after they finish the competition on Saturday.
But, Inia then gathered his fellow referees and walked out from Albert Park saying that they need money as they have to travel from home to the grounds on a daily basis.
At the moment, Suva Officials have made arrangements with some other referees who still want to officiate in the game and are bringing in the services of referees from Tailevu to start the U-19 competition this afternoon.
