Quick ball on attack will be the order of the day during the Rugby World Cup.

Referees Boss Paddy O’Brien said the tackle area was one of five key areas referees have been instructed to focus on during this year’s tournament.

The interpretation of the rules at the breakdown was altered last year to give teams the best opportunity to play attacking rugby.

However, O’Brien admitted the refereeing in that area had become unclear again in recent months and all match officials had been told to put an emphasis on ensuring tacklers rolled away quickly.

Another key area whistleblowers will be focusing on is the heavy policing of the offside rules in order to create space for attackers.

Meanwhile, Springboks lock Bakkies Botha is expected to be ruled out of the opening Rugby World Cup clash against Wales.

Botha is suffering from an Achilles injury and his loss could open the door for Dannie Rossouw.

South Africa take on Wales at 8.30pm this Sunday.
