The Public Accounts Committee has revealed that the Ministry of Fijian Affairs, Heritage, Provincial Development and Multi Ethnic Affairs reduced its expenditure for the year 2007 by 11.8 percent which equates to $4.44 million.

Committee member, Taufa Vakatale said in comparison to its 2006 expenditure of $42.163 million, the Ministry spent $37.715 million in 2007.

She also said in comparison to its expenditure budget of $54 million, the Ministry saved $16.9 million which equates to 31 percent.

Vakatale said this was due to stringent budgeting and the civil servants pay cut.
