There will be a reduction in the number of major cruise liners to visit Suva this year compared to last year.
Member of the Cruise Committee, Pacific Agencies Bradley Bower confirms that there will be only 55 cruiseliners to call into port compared to 76 last year.
He said this is due to the trickle effect of the global financial crisis.
Meanwhile, about 2000 tourists onboard the cruise liner the Pacific Dawn spent the day shopping in Suva today and many were shocked to see the high rise buildings and world class shopping malls which the capital has on offer.
