The Reds held on to beat the Blues 12-11 last night at Suncorp Stadium to complete the first ever Australian clean sweep of New Zealand teams.

The Reds have already beaten the Hurricanes, Highlanders and Chiefs but do not play the Crusaders in the regular season this year.

The result provisionally moves the Reds to the top of the Super Rugby standings and the Blues remain on top of the New Zealand Conference.

The Blues scored the only try of the match in the first half and led 9-11 at the break but were kept scoreless in the second half.

The second half produced few scoring opportunities for either side but Quade Cooper kicked a penalty five minutes from full time to put the Reds into the lead.

Meanwhile a charged down conversion kick proved to be crucial as the Stormers beat the Hurricanes 18-16 last night.

In tonight's clash, the Chiefs will host the Sharks at 7.35pm, while the Brumbies will host the Western Force at 9.40pm.
