Defending Super Rugby champions, Reds scored a try after the hooter to earn a 21-25 Super Rugby victory over the Waratahs in Sydney.

The Reds looked a little unsettle in the encounter and had to rely on Quade Cooper’s replacement Mike Harris for all of their points until the hooter sounded when Dom Shipperley ran 75 meters to score the Reds only try.

Meanwhile the Highlanders kicked off their 2012 Super Rugby campaign by upsetting the much favored Chiefs 19-23 in Hamilton after trailing 19-9 earlier in the match.

The Chiefs looked to be running away with the match but then their injuries mounted and this allowed the Highlanders back into the match.

In other results, the Stormers opened their Super Rugby season on a high after blowing away the Hurricanes with a 39-26 victory at Newlands Stadium while the Lions beat Cheetahs 27-25 in a gripping encounter this morning.
