The Reds believe they can convince Super Rugby judiciaries to allow Quade Cooper to play in their qualifying final with the Sharks this weekend.

Cooper has been charged for a dangerous high tackle on Waratahs Berrick Barnes and will plead his case this afternoon.

Coach Ewen McKenzie said if the worst happens, they can still win without Cooper.

McKenzie said that after viewing the footage frame by frame, they think they have a case.

The Reds will play the Sharks at 9:40pm on Saturday while the Crusaders meet the Bulls at 7:35pm.
