Queensland Reds Captain James Slipper has challenged Samu Kerevi to make his match‑winning performance against the Highlanders a standard he retains throughout the Super Rugby season.

Kerevi scored a try and set up the Reds two other tries in the first half of Saturday's 28‑27 victory over the 2015 champions.

He ran a total of 150 metres in the match and broke seven tackles.

Slipper says Kerevi will be a great centre in the future.

Fiji‑born Kerevi was part of an extended Wallabies squad last year and is aiming for his first cap in the June internationals against England.

The Reds will meet the Bulls at 3.05am this Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders play the Jaguares 7.35pm Friday while the Waratahs face the Brumbies at 9.40pm Saturday.
