Red Rock wonder boy, playmaker Peni Gaunimeke has been included in the 18 member Digicel Fiji 7s squad and will now be vying for a Fiji jersey in the NZ and USA 7s.
Gaunimeke has been brought in with Red Rock halfback, Lorima Boletawa, Navy hooker Waqabaca Kotobalavu and Army's Leone Nakarawa.
Ilai Tinai and Apisai Nayabo are the other two players who were included after the Uprising Fiji International 7s.
Meanwhile the Fiji Rugby Union met with Digicel Fiji 7's coach Iliesa Tanivula today together with his new assistant Josateki Savou to map out strategies in trying to defend the New Zealand 7's next weekend in Wellington.
Interim FRU board chairman, Rafaele Kasibulu has confirmed that they met with Tanivula and Savou to assess Fiji's past performances locally and in the IRB 7's series.
Kasibulu added that the coaching staff knows about the task at hand in winning in Wellington and also the IRB 7's series which we last won in 2007 when Savou teamed up with former 7's wizard Waisale Serevi.
Earlier today, Fiji Rugby Union's High Performance Unit Manager, Talemo Waqa announced that Savou will start off with the team today.
This follows an assessment of the Fiji team's performance by the FRU board.
Waqa said it is clear that Digicel Fiji 7s coach, Iliesa Tanivula needs assistance.
Tanivulu welcomed Savou's inclusion at the training run in Nasova in the last hour.
Meanwhile the final 12 players that will represent Fiji in the NZ and USA 7's will be known on Friday.
It was supposed to be announced tomorrow but FRU has decided that they will need time to reduce the squad from 16 to 12.
The NZ 7's kicks off in Wellington next Friday.
