The Fiji Red Cross Society today visited the 75 people whose bures were destroyed by a fire at Vacoko, Naboro two weeks ago, and distributed relief items worth $2695.

The families received nine Orange Packs, 35 10 litre water containers, 120 blankets, 13 cooking sets and 10 tarpaulins.

District Officer, Viliame Kubunavanua thanked the Fiji Red Cross on behalf of the families who also extended their appreciation for the assistance at such a difficult time.

16 bures were completely razed to the ground after the fire started from a lit pile of rubbish near one of the bures. 8 bures were not affected by the fire, with 50 families sharing the bures for shelter.
