The disastrous flooding in Fiji has deeply moved France and it territories in the Pacific, thus to help Fiji recover the French Government has allocated $70,000 to the Fiji Red Cross.

New Caledonian government has also donated $173,000 while French Polynesia has given $50,000 to the Fiji Red Cross as an immediate assistance.

The City of Noumea has donated $20,000 of school supplies which will be sent to Fiji for the new school year and a further $65,000 will be given to the Fiji Chamber of Commerce to help local businesses resume operations.

In total, France, New Caledonia and French Polynesia have donated the sum of $380,000 which was handed over to the Red Cross by the French Ambassador Michel Monnier this morning.
