For the first time in Fiji’s history, visitor arrivals for the month of April have surpassed the 50,000 mark.
Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the total visitor arrivals also looks good so far with the total for January to April this year standing at 186,634 compared to 171,438 arrivals for the same period last year.
Sayed-Khaiyum said this is also evident that Tourism Fiji’s marketing strategies are working as more work is now being done to continue to boost visitor arrivals each month.
Sayed-Khaiyum said there is an overall increase of 8.9% in visitor arrivals for January to April this year compared to the same period in 2010.
He also revealed that arrivals from Australia, NZ and China continue to grow.
