Major engineering and reconstruction works amounting to around half a million dollars are expected to start on the Sawani Serea Highway near Savu Village after a landslide occurred over the weekend as a result of heavy rain.

Works Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said they are also working on the wash away near the Naqali Bridge and they are expected to complete work on this by this afternoon.

Waqainabete adds all the major engineering and reconstruction works will take three months with engineers now viewing the site.
