National netball coach Melissa Walker has asked Netball Fiji to reconsider its decision of terminating her contract because she took the team to South Africa.
Speaking from South Africa this morning, Walker said she was told of the decision but upon her return, will meet with Netball Fiji executives to sort out their differences.
Meanwhile, national under 21 netball team manager Selina Kuruleca said Walker has done nothing wrong and the way she was treated by Netball Fiji executives was wrong.
She said Netball Fiji should have waited for her to return from South Africa before making any decision.
Kuruleca said they had to tour South Africa despite Netball Fiji executives telling them not to go because of financial constraints.
It is believed that the Netball Fiji council made the decision at its emergency meeting last Saturday to terminate the contract of Walker and Kuruleca following their decision to attend the Tri Nations Series in South Africa.
Walker earlier this year signed a three year contract with Netball Fiji and was brought in to replace former Silver Fern Vilimaina Davu with the aim take to Fiji to the top four in the world.
