The Social Welfare Ministry has urged all recipients to utilize the call center set by the Ministry.

Permanent Secretary, Govind Sami said the clients can use the toll free line to lodge complains about ineligible individuals receiving welfare assistance and also raise queries in regards to their application.

He stressed the call centre is to provide a more effective service delivery to the recipients adding that long queues at the district and divisional offices will also be avoided.

He also said people who fall under the social welfare assistance will not have to travel long distance to enquire about their case.

Ever since its operation started from the 9th of this month, a total of 44 complaints have been received and an investigation will be conducted after any action is being taken.
