The Vodafone Fiji believes that the devastation caused by Cyclone Winston and the recent floods will motivate them in Hong Kong this weekend.

Coach Ben Ryan says that the country was shaken to its core, houses and lives were also torn apart after Cyclone Winston and flood waters have ruined many houses in the Western Division.

Ryan adds that some of the players also lost their homes.

Pio Tuwai’s house is badly affected at the moment and one or two others lost the roofs of their homes.

He adds the players may be admired, for what they do for their country, but they come from the same jobs and villages as the people watching them.

Fiji will take on Canada at 12.06am this Saturday in their first pool match.

They will play their second pool game against Korea at 4.24pm Saturday before they face Wales at 8.24pm Saturday in their last pool match.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 2.58pm Sunday, the Cup semifinals start at 7.44pm Sunday while the Cup final kicks off at 11pm Sunday.
