A total of five first half tries last night saw the Fiji Warriors go down 27-42 to the new Melbourne Rebels side.

The game which saw former Wallabies captain Stirling Mortlock make a try scoring debut for the Melbourne Rebels saw other top players like Lachie Mitchell, James Hilgendorf, Mortlock, Danny Cipriani and Cooper Vuna, score a try each.

The Rebels had previously beaten Tonga in both of their first matches for the Super Rugby newcomers.

The Rebel, who have gone unbeaten in three pre season matches, face the Crusaders on Saturday while the Fiji Warriors get ready to take on the Waratahs next Friday.
