The Rebels face a daunting task as they welcome high-flying Australian Conference leaders the Brumbies to Melbourne tonight.

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Melbourne based Rebels and the ACT based Brumbies the Canberra side have won five.

The Rebels have played the Brumbies six times since they joined Super Rugby in 2011 and the Brumbies have won 5 times and lost once.

That gives the Rebels a record of winning just 17% of their matches against the Brumbies.

Tonight the match will be played in Melbourne which is home for the Rebels and where the teams have played each other three times.

In those three matches the Rebels beat the Brumbies once which was in 2011 but since then the closest they have gotten to the ACT side is an 8 point loss.

That gives the Rebels a record of winning just 33% of their matches against the Brumbies.

The Brumbies meet the Rebels at 8.40 tonight while the Crusaders meet the Hurricanes at 6.35pm.
