It is still unclear at the moment as to what are the reasons that led to the Fiji Rugby Union CEO, Timothy Daniel announcing his resignation yesterday.

The man formerly known as Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua stated that his resignation was due to "personal reasons".

Daniel became FRU acting CEO in June 2005 when Pio Bosco Tikoisuva resigned, and he was reappointed to the position on December 16 last year which was to extend for the next three years.

FRU Board Chairman, Keni Dakuidreketi who made the announcement yesterday could not elaborate further on why Daniel resigned.

In the meantime, Dakuidrekti will act in the position.
