The former Police Mobile Force which is now the Ready Action Unit is not armed as claimed by some critics of the force.
Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni said people did not criticise the former Commissioner, Andrew Hughes, when he armed a unit and he is concerned why so much is being said when he is now instilling professionalism in the force.
Commissioner Teleni also stresses that he is not militarising the Police Force and the comments of some NGO's are way out of line.
Commissioner Teleni said the new Ready Action Unit will also assist during any emergencies including natural disasters.
He said times are changing and people need to accept change.
