Spending of money on Poverty Programme by government is not used effectively and instead increases poverty.

This is according to Executive Director of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation Dr Howard White after a report stated that the government forked out a total of 1.5 billion dollars from the years 2000 to 2008 for poverty alleviation.

Dr Howard White who conducted a workshop on Assessment of Poverty Impacts said there is a need for proper assessment on effectively utilizing money allocated for poverty alleviation Programmes.
