Former FICAC Lawyer Aca Rayawa has been appointed the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions.

President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau appointed Rayawa with effect from the 31st of December, replacing John Rabuku.

Rayawa said he has set his goals on capacity building withing the Office of the DPP and wishes to increases the capacity of the DPP officers to handle serious and demanding cases without needing to contract cases out to private lawyers unless the circumstances are compelling and such contracting out also involves in house training.
