Rayawa Rubbishes Naidu’s Evidence
Rayawa said Naidu is just speculating that there is interference and is crucifying the judicial officials and Fiji's judiciary in the process.
Rayawa yesterday raised concerns in the manner in which Dorsami Naidu attacked members of the Judiciary and alleged interference from the interim government.
Naidu alleged that there was clear interference in the Judicial system by the state in incidents regarding Angie Heffernan's case, the deportation of newspaper executives Russel Hunter and Evan Hannah in relation to the manner in which court orders were ignored and ex-parte orders obtained by the State.
He also said there seemed to have been interference in the judicial system in the manner in which the State obtained a stay on Judge Justice Filimoni Jitoko's ruling regarding the Peoples Charter case. Rayawa stood up and called on Naidu to stop making allegations and provide evidence on his claims and stated that he stands to question the allegations against the judiciary, in defence of the integrity of the Judicial Officers.
